Okay, so let's take this further. He's hanging out with a shin kicker. And that shin kicker is like "fuck yeah, kicking shins rules!" And at no point, he's like "hey, shin kicking actually isn't all that rad." Isn't he at some point at a minimum enabling the shin kicking?

 

I think the overall problem is that people associate with fascism to get a rise out of people across the board

Yeah...I think that’s the issue. Is he a racist, a Satanist, sexual abuser....maybe not. Is he surrounding himself with it...yes...and maybe just because it gets a reaction. That’s always been my take. I just find it hard to believe certain people would tolerate it in his life at such a public level (band members, labels, other bands, venues, promoters) if it was really out of control and unmanageable.

 

Another big picture problem also on display today -

Warped tour pop punkers will quite literally defend you regardless of any action/non-action/association with actual nazis, abusers, sexual predators, writers of disgusting misogynist lyrics ect. and will openly & continually support and promote these people and their music through the guise of "being a fan"

Look, I understand nostalgia and not wanting to stop listening to a band you love but...I am always baffled at how fervently people on here will defend Blink or Skiba or MGK or whoever. You are free to listen to them, no one is saying otherwise, but the consistent defense of them is definitely a bad look. Especially on a music website where there are tons of non-shitty musicians you could listen to, talk about, and publicly support instead.

 

Okay, so now continuing to move this forward. Having seen a rise in shin kicking around the country, and having seen so many people in powerful positions turn out to not be who they SEEM to be, is it maybe possible that his enablement of shin kicking isn't being met with the criticism from his peers you assume, and maybe the only real way anyone is going to really acknowledge his enablement of shin kicking is if it is pointed out and criticized as opposed to acknowledged once by fans and forgotten?

 

It's breathtaking how consistently awful a single person's posts can be, truly you almost have to respect it

I am just willing to judge Matt on his actions in the public, and no everyone else’s.

Also, I kind of have faith that people in the know will do the right thing. I feel like Mr Brett, Mark and Dan would be a good judge of character.
