All these false narratives meant to distract from the central point here are so transparently being done to sensationalize and mischaracterize people's rhetoric in order to make it seem unreasonable or ridiculous.

Nobody has said Skiba is a racist.

Nobody has said Skiba is a Nazi.

Skiba is good friends with at least one Nazi, such good friends with him that he featured that Nazi friend on an Alkaline Trio song, and has never expressed remorse or apologized for it. That in and of itself is bad and worthy of criticism.

And that's not even getting into the gross Asia Argento stuff.

Dan chooses to work and be friends with Matt though and continues to be in the Trio. I just think Dan is the more down to earth guy in that band. Matt and Derek just always seemed more into creating the “image”.

definitely not hahaha. I just wouldn’t use his Instagram as my only source.

One person calls him racist because his interest in Nazi culture. The next person brings up his friendship with Mike Park and Asian Man records (and I brought up him working with Steve Aoki recently).

There’s actual a lot people could complain with about Matt. His first Sekrets album art and tour, his Church of Satan 666 gimmick. It’s just forgotten and ignored...and if you going to attack someone’s character include all the stuff. But I also don’t think Dan, Mark, Mr Brett, Fat Mike and a bunch of the other people he’s associated with would tolerate his antics if there wasn’t some redeeming human qualities there. Doesn’t mean he’s not an idiot at times or likes the attention (which has been a thing for a long time).

Opening with "he can't harbor racist inclinations, he has an Asian friend!" was a choice.

 

Matt’s unlikable qualities are not new. I’d say the complaining has ramped up since blink and I think the potential that Tom fans pushing that isn’t crazy. I’ve even heard and interviewer try and seem to generate some friction between Matt and Tom after he joined the band and Matt had no part of it.
