At the end of the day, i'm just super thankful that these live albums are a thing and that they decided to release them on Spotify. They could've easily kept these as a physical purchase only or as some part of limited release, but they didn't. Cheers boys!
Oh super glad they're on streaming. Most of them are great. I'll prob listen to MICF over the studio version most of the time. Bout to start watching my Blu Ray which came today, super stoked hah.
Also saw Audiotree did the recording, assume it's the same one that does the great quality live stuff on Youtube.
I love that they released the album for streaming! Now I can finally listen to Agony & Irony on Spotify, that album is blocked in some European countries.
The thing I find so amazing about him is how effortless it SOUNDS. It all sounds very easy and relaxed while sometimes just playing a good groove and other times being technical. I can't think of anyone that makes it sound as easy as he does. A really unique quality, for sure!
I think that's why I admire him. He's just so much more than a technical drummer, he always makes me forget about Mike and Glenn.
What’s the general consensus on how Matt’s participation in Blink has impacted his overall reputation? Good or bad?
Trio fans are still acting like it's the end of the world. For me he really hasn't played Mr. big rock star. So he's still the same Skiba I always grew to know.
I mean I've sure seen on FB a good number of his Trio fans turn on Matt a bit. But overall? Good. And sure a ton of new people discovered Trio through blink.
I absolutely have. I only knew Jaked On Green Beers because of the Atticus comp CD back in 2002 and while I loved the song I never went out of my way to listen to any of their other songs until Matt was going to play the Musink Festival in 2015. I ended up buying all of their albums because I loved their music so much (although don't like Dan's songs nearly as much), along with his Sekret albums too. If it wasn't for Matt joining blink I never would have given Trio a chance.
I knew and liked Alkaline before he joined Blink, but him joining made me go back and revisit the stuff of theirs I hadn’t listened to and it made me an even bigger fan
There’s only a handful of Dan songs that I really like, it might be his voice I don’t know to be honest, but the majority of his songs I find to be only ok. If I have Trio just randomly playing more often than not if a Dan song comes on I find myself skipping it.
Fair enough. I just always found him more consistent, I always felt like he had more good songs than bad compared to Matt.
Same here. About 13 years. Don't get me wrong, I love Dan to death, but Matt's songs always stick with me more.
well... today I learned via Past Live that Matt's name is pronounced skee-ba and not sky-ba only been listening to these guys for, I dunno, 10-12 years gg me
I’ve always been more drawn to Matt’s vocals. There’s something so hauntingly beautiful about it. Have they ever released a single with only Dan singing? I don’t think they have. I’m just now thinking about that haha.
haha that's so funny. i've only ever heard it pronounced "skee-ba." i'm surprised there was any kind of confusion, haha.
