Goodbye Forever This Is Getting Over You Bleeder I Lied My Face Off My Friend Peter just perfection to me. That was the second thing I bought after Infirmary got me into them.
I tried to make a "best of" playlist the other day but it was just their whole discography, basically.
It's been some time since I went through that record in full. I remember liking the title track a lot. However, that's probably not very original since it was one the singles.
I would have to go back again to pick a favorite from that album, it's always blended together in a mess of bleh to me
Definitely least favorite. The only songs I'd say I love are Off The Map, Lead Poisoning, Dead On The Floor, Eating Me Alive and Fine. Hmm I really like Dorothy too though. I want to say that sounds like I should really like the album but American Scream, Draculina and Piss and Vinegar really drag it down for me. This Addiction and Dine, Dine are ok.
Pretty much my exact feelings right there. I did too, for a while, but Agony has really grown on me over the years. It has such strong hooks, and the production is big enough without going overboard.
Agony and Addiction are pretty close for me but I just think Agony is more consistent throughout and I dig the general vibe a lot more.
Been playing Trio a lot lately. ''Queen of Pain'' is sooooo underrated and good. Maybe my favorite Trio song.
Dunno if this has been mentioned here but, Matt is a character in Keith Buckley (of Every Time I Die)'s book "Scale", it's pretty funny.
I've been meaning to relisten to My Shame Is True, really a great album and is among their best. I hope we get something new soon.
As if I needed more incentive to read that book. I've gotta check it out soon! I really love that album too. I would love for Bill Stevenson to produce their next album.
I'll always love everything they put out but just nothing can compare to the emotion in their early music. That's my favorite Dan song. Not easily though, cause I love Crawl too much haha.
I feel like I appreciate the old Trio records and the new ones for different reasons. The early albums are so dark, sad, angry, and honest, which is what makes them so resonant. The new albums, though not as emotionally raw, are awesome because Matt and Dan are just great songwriters at this point.
Dan's doing another solo tour in early 2017 and none of the dates are in the coastal cities of the north east coast. Closest is Pittsburgh --A spoiled east coast city/suburbs dweller who generally doesn't have to travel more than 2 hours to see a concert.
