When I first listened to Crimson, I hadn't heard Time to waste yet, but my iPod shuffled the album and Fall Victim played first. I thought it was Time to Waste because of the line "We're wasting our tiiiiiiiiime."

 

I love Crimson. I've heard the complaint that it's badly sequenced but I haven't tried messing with it to see if there's an order that I prefer. I think Time to Waste has to be the opener and Smoke has to be the closer, but in between I'm sure there's lots to play with. Has anyone added the B-sides from that era into the track list?

Edit: I remember when Crimson leaked, my friend burned me a copy with the tracks out of order. Back to Hell was the opening track, and though I can't imagine Time to Waste anywhere else in the tracklist, Back to Hell definitely made for a great opener.

 

The amount of leaked albums with wrong sequencing I had circa 2004/2005 was wild. Senses Fail Let It Enfold You is one that comes to mind immediately.

 

Turns out the only songs I like off of This Addiction are the title track and "American Scream."

I never had a problem with Crimson's track order personally.

 

I broke one of your cardinal rules when I made this, sorry. I think it flows like a beauty, though, maybe someone else will dig it.

I don't think I've ever adjusted a tracklisting to my own liking before

 

I haven't apart from occasionally removing a song

 

I did it with the last Death Cab album when they stupidly put the two slow, quiet and sad songs back to back in the middle. It flowed much better to move Hold No Guns right towards the back.

 

Buried is a definite closer, that’s for sure. I just can’t imagine anything coming after Smoke either. It’s a pickle. I’ll definitely try this list out though. The thought of Dethbed leading into I Was a Prayer sounds very good in my head.

I don’t normally do it but I did it for This Addiction the other day and it was kinda fun.

 

It's just a lot of fun, lol. What can I say?

Think of Smoke and Buried as kind of a two-part closer and it's dope, imo. The other option would be just swapping them I guess, but I think the transition is cleaner this way

 

I'm ready for another new song. There are 13 tracks. A couple more songs would do before the album drops lol.

 

I think we will definitely get one more before the tour starts next week

And then they will probably play those 2 and one other on the tour. Assuming we'll get another Matt single and the one they play on tour will be Dan

 

I’m gonna try my hardest not to listen to anymore tracks since the album isn’t far off. 12 fresh tracks sounds good to me.

 

They'll drop a Dan song next I think.

 

Just give me a sappy love song from Danny boy.

 

I want one more song and then I’ll resist the rest

I'd like 2 more songs before it comes out. So I can wear out Blackbird less lol. Ten fresh songs on release day is plenty for me

 

What is it that you don’t like about This Addiction? I hear it a lot and am interested. For some reason it clicked with me right away. “Fine” is an awesome Dan closer too

Iam there with you fam.I love that album...very unpopular opinion but I was really thinking which album is my least favorite and it came as the Crimson is the one I always forget about and almost never listen to anymore
