Eh it just feels like they tried to write a Ramones song or something and it doesn't really do anything for me. I like the bridge tho? Lol
There are some really weird takes in this thread. I can't believe there are people in existence who have A&I/TA over Goddamnit. One of my favorite later era deep cuts is Buried. One of my least favorite "popular" tracks is This Could Be Love. I think I picked up this band sometime between FHTI and GM so I definitely skew towards the production on the earlier albums. It took a while to get into Crimson and now I find I usually visit the demos instead of the studio album.
Since everyone else is listing: Good Mourning From Here to Infirmary Goddammit Remains Self-titled Crimson Maybe I'll Catch Fire My Shame is True This Addiction Agony & Irony
Eh it doesn't bother me if people have newer stuff over early albums like Goddamnit. If Agony or Crimson was someone's first album that they listened to and loved can't blame them if they don't dig an album that raw. However or whenever people got into them I welcome it

So as I’m sure some of you are aware, maybe, Alkaline Trio has a new album coming out and a fall tour looking to launch soon. Today I was met with an interesting premise. For me, it’s been a while since I listened to some of their older albums. @ComedownMachine has only ever listened to Good Mourning and Crimson. Because of this, he and I decided to do a discography run starting tomorrow night from their first album to their most recent to prepare for the tour. This has led me to an idea I am going to test run. CMCS DISCOGRAPHY RUN ALKALINE TRIO As he and I go through the albums, I am going to record his first impressions of the albums and my refreshed impressions/opinions, and do write ups of each album. Unlike album reviews this will be more of a loose structured mini review in a sense. Looking forward to giving this segment a trial run. I will be posting this over on the Chorus Music Society: The Chorus Music Club Society
Good Mourning My Shame Is True (deluxe) Maybe I’ll Catch Fire Crimson (Remains) From Here To Infirmary (Self-titled) Agony & Irony Goddammit This Addiction This was so hard, but it’s pretty current for me. It changes all the time from FHTI down.
Honestly, that album would be higher for me if they didn’t leave Dan’s songs as bonus tracks. They should’ve been mixed in the actual track list.
It's last for me album-wise but I love Off The Map, Lead Poisoning, Dead On The Floor, Fine and probably not popular opinions: Dorothy and Eating Me Alive. And the bonus songs are great.
I have extra love for Dead On The Floor cause I was at the show when they first played it and announced that record, and that was my one news credit on absolutepunk haha.
The first 6 tracks on TA are good to great, plus the closer, but that stretch from Draculina through Dorothy is just
This Addiction has some good tracks but collectively is definitely their worst. I really don't think Agony is that far off from it though
Honestly, if "Help Me" was taken off that record, dragged to an alley, and beaten, I may have enjoyed it more.
I like Help Me. Nothing spectacular but a solid song. I liked it more when they just had a performance type music video for it at first. Than they put out that other one ugh lol.
