A&I >>>>>> Crimson

I liked Crimson a lot when it first came
out, but as time went on it went further and further down the ranks for me.


Live Young Die Fast is a big black mark on A&I for me, but otherwise Matt is stronger on there for me than he is on Crimson, and Dan just fucking killed it. Not to say that I don’t love Smoke or I Was a Prayer, but goddamn Dan is so strong on A&I...in vein, do you wanna know, and the b sides are the best b sides he’s done, IMO.

One thing I loved about Crimson is they went more dual vocals on songs, I remember the fan base asking for more of that after Good Mourning and they delivered...I hope they do that again on this album.

 

I think I say this a lot cause up through Crimson everything is pretty much perfect to me. After that, each album (while there isn't an album I don't love) has some pretty low points, Matt's writing isn't as strong as it used to be to me, and sometimes the tracklists don't flow as well to me. Addiction especially to me could use replacing a couple songs with Dan's bonus songs and a whole new sequencing.

 

Jerry Finn, their producer, passed away. That's one of the bigger things IMO.

 

Blackbird really feels to me like an evolution of the MSIT sound with kind of a classic feel. I'm so stoked that this band is back! Seriously cannot wait to see em' next month.

 

Blackbird sounds like a cross between MSIT and GM to me

 

Have a personal attachment to trio being from the same area. It’s in the air. My fandom peterred Out around Crimson. MICF, GD and FHTI are all amazing though.

 

My fav AK3 tracks are Jaked on Green Beers, Time to Waste, and She Lied to the FBI. idk their albums enough to say which is my fav. THATS how casual I am. This song rips though.

I'd honestly say this about every album since Crimson, lol. But In My Stomach, Those Lungs, Burned, Broken Wing etc are just top tier songs for the band in general imo

Lol yeah there's songs on each of the last three I would switch off for the bonus songs for sure

 

....This whole time I thought the lyrics to So Far Off The Map were "we just fucked two hours and seven minutes, honestly I'm surprised we made it".

 

Threw on the This Addiction Past Live album while dinner prepping. So good. Really wish the bonus tracks were included.

 

I thought it was "that's it, we've had enough" for a solid 10 years or so. Apparently it's "that said, we've had enough". Small, I know, but significant lol

 

Genius has it as ""that's it"

I always thought it was "I said we've had enough"

also Broken Wing is such a top tier song

 

I definitely hear a T sound in the first half of the sentence, but now you've got me doubting. gonna have to consult the lyrics book

 

Can’t forget about the song Pocket Knife. Damn that entire EP is so good.
