Yeah I read someone else describe it as listening to the song through a blanket and that makes sense. Even the new TGA songs sound way louder/bigger in comparison.
When I came to this song from the new blink songs it was super quiet in comparison but my ears kinda adjusted real quick. So I'm not worried about it in the context of the album and overall I don't mind it for a Trio album as a choice. It's not like it's The Canyon or The Fire or anything. All the individual parts sound good. Bass especially
I decided to run through some of the past live stuff today, I really wish some of that stuff would be played more often.
I constantly have “I hope and pray to see your motherfucking face again, yeah yeah yeah yeahhhh” stuck in my head. Title track has quickly become one of my fav Alk3 tracks.
Question for the Alkaline Trio die-hards: what is with their consistent production "muddled guitar" sound? Not saying it's bad - it just lacks a loud clean punch that always leaves me scratching my head. The recording from a 2023 single sounding almost identical to their hits from 2000 is just different to me.
Hey wtf this song kicks ass. Always welcome when Alkaline Trio snaps into true form. This is perfect.
New song releasing across the world at the moment at midnight in each time zone. It’s a good one! Edit: someone put it on Reddit too if you can’t wait
Yep this is mint, LOVE the tones! Lead riff is pulling from Fine a bit but I'm sure we're all used to stylistic similarities by album 10.
The video is fucking awesome, I can’t wait to see them in March. Also Matt looks super healthy this time around
