Really wracking my brain to figure out what could have happened because they all seemed pretty compatible, politics wise and music wise and personality wise and etc. Maybe something happened in the studio? I'm so confused
This makes me think it was more amicable than not…as people have already said, perhaps Atom was looking for a busier schedule and realized these guys aren’t matching up with what he wants.
I meant the tone of the text. Not trying to spice it up or make it salacious. I’m bummed to see him go, hopefully it’s all of us reading into it. I’m sure we’ll get an announcement of him playing with another rad band very soon. I remember Tom saying in one of his many interviews during covid there was talk of Atom being the drummer again on an AVA tour but his schedule didn’t work out. That would have been awesome to see him playing with them again.
If Derek isn’t coming back, I can see Neil joining because of the Chicago connection and Neil played in Dan’s solo band before. At the weirdest, I can see Travis playing on the record and Neil touring. Or Travis touring. Idk lol
Not sure this is what everybody needs, but I was thinking maybe a situation where Derek is the studio drummer but only plays live with them occasionally.
Nothing more to add to this other than feeling a bit bummed out. I love Atom as a drummer and he seemed a really great fit for the band.
I had no idea a single version of Surprise Surprise was released with a demo as track 2. Listening right now and it's prettty damn cool
Still annoyed I got a second delivery of Oblivion instead of Bleeding Out. Kings Road never even responded to my email
For some reason, this record didn't click with me when it was first released. In the middle of a relisten now and can confirm that I can be a fucking idiot sometimes. This is a joy.
