Anyone who’s seem them on this tour, how is Matt’s voice holding up? I’m a snob and if the vocals aren’t on point I don’t really enjoy shows, and that was the case when I saw them in 2022.
Yea they were great. Probably the most dialed in I’ve seen them play since around the A&I era. I got the tour exclusive vinyl (it says maroon but it’s more crimson) despite $40 for a single LP being dumb.
Follow up: at least your vinyl was a shade of red, they goofed and I got a standard black vinyl lol I really just bought another to support the band and I have three other variants so no big deal really
It’s October, which means it’s Trio season in my household. Just checking in again to say the part where Dan comes in on Shake With Me gets me so fucking hype. Probably a top 3 to 5 moment in their discography for me.
i'm just getting into them as of very recently and i'm shocked that their albums up to this point (listening to this addiction right now) are so consistently good. i think my favorite right now is tied between crimson and agony & irony. such a fun band to dive into especially at this time of year.
The next one, My Shame is True, is one of my all time favorites by them. The following two are great too, they're remarkably consistent
Revisiting The Sacrifice and At Sickness right now. Some really great guitar work on these tunes! Love me some riff-y Skiba.
My wife always sings "Thank god for T-Pain" when we listen to The Sacrifice and I can't hear anything else now.
I'm inclined to think they're working on stuff for a non-Trio project, both because Dan doesn't seem to be there and because Matt and Atom have obviously collaborated on a ton. That said, I'm definitely excited about whatever it turns out to be.
