Alkaline Trio Setlist at Rockwell at The Complex, Salt Lake City They were sooo great tonight! Skiba was so funny and sounded great all night. They all had so much energy and were having a blast.
I love Agony & Irony. When they played Calling All Skeletons last week when I saw them, the crowd went nuts. Love that song.
I don't love Agony and Irony, but weirdly enough, this new album always makes me want to listen to it immediately after. So it's gotten probably a dozen spins since January. Some great tunes on there, mixed with a few that I don't care for.
I’ve been revisiting this one a ton ever since they added the remaining bonus tracks to streaming a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely love the tones on that record across the board.
"Here it is again, but it stings like the first time" is also, neatly, Jason's thoughts on Agony and Irony. (Probably)
I’ve always struggled to find a satisfying place for it in the tracklist. But it’s for sure my favorite song from those sessions.
I have a fondness for A&I for a lot of nostalgia.. I liked Trio at the time off and on but Agony & Irony came out when my mom and I were living house to house wherever we could stay, when I was a freshman in high school. I remember watching Charlie Bartlett and it being a really humid, rainy spring>summer and listening to the EP they put out prior to the album that had Help Me, In Vein, and Into The Night on it.. Ahh... times.
I saw them a few weeks ago in Vancouver and was actually disappointed in the sound. Not sure if it was the venue or the mix but the vocals were way off and I couldn't hear the guitar at all.
There are 3 new b-sides that have leaked for this album. Are You Even There? (Dan) (Matt on parts of chorus) At Sickness (Dan) The Sacrifice. (Matt) They are fantastic.
I vaguely remember someone posting in this thread well over a month ago that a few more tracks would be released soon but since it didn’t happen I figured it was just a rumor/BS but yeah send those tracks our way haha.
I'm also on the "Burned Is The House" is possibly the best song from that album cycle" bandwagon. Such a good song, even if I ahd trouble making out Dan's lyrics in the chorus for years lol. Both that and In My Stomach should have been on the album, though like you said I can see why maybe they left BITH off. But In My Stomach coming on after Into the Night seemed like such an easy choice that they seemingly did not make. Not sure if it was to keep up the "album closer alternates vocalist" tradition or what, but Into the Night felt like such a penultimate track and In My Stomach being the naturally slow acoustic closer.
Sorry, I posted and left y'all in the dark (with the eyeballs) A guy on a FB group posted screenshots of them on his apple music or something but I still havent seen them on there myself.. But he did send me the songs so I can verify they exist.. I dont know where to find them though... but yes... I have them. So... Ill be online for a bit.. also, one of the tracks is slotted before Teenage Heart. The other two come after it now.
