Alkaline Trio Are Still Having a Blast on Their Own Terms, Even 3 Decades and 10 Albums Later

 

Great article and it sounds like Atom was the one wanting to play deeper Trio cuts, which is really cool.

 

saw the ATL show last night, time of my goddamn life. 20+ years of listening and seeing them for the first time was everything i imagined it would be and then some. so much energy from the whole trio. the hour and a half felt like barely a half hour.

no Teenage Heart though. and no orange shirts at the merch table.

 

I hope they throw that back into the set before I go again Friday, I was surprised they didn’t play it and when I looked back and saw it was cut I was bummed

 

Has alkaline been going on closer to 9 or 10? Asking for a guy pushing 40 with a 6 month old at home.

 

They played 845-1005 in Austin (on a Tuesday night with hard out at 1030) a week ago

 

Saw them last night and they were fantastic, this is the best Matt has sounded in a really long time and Atom fits in perfectly, he's always so much fun to watch no matter who he's drumming for. Really made the new songs click even more for me too, they sounded awesome

 

I went to the Philly show the other night and it was honestly the most rowdy Trio show I’ve been to and it was killer. Also Drug Church is super fun !

 

Hot For Preacher is such a killer opener

 

Seeing them next weekend, which is Saturday... St Patrick's Day weekend... in Chicago.

Crimson was my first Trio record but I don't think I got on with this record as much but in hindsight, it's still pretty strong.

 

Can’t wait to see these guys tomorrow

Edit: For real, who heard Burned is the House and In My Stomach and said, no, we need Live Young, Die Fast and Lost and Rendered?

 

Urban Outfitters variant finally showed up and this thing is sweet. The packaging/sleeve and the record itself just feels like very high quality.

 

Worriers are killing it right now, getting settled in for a great night.

Might have to show these oldheads what Drug Church is all about...
