Correct, I remember We've Had Enough and Time to Waste in particular being huge on Q101 back in the day. Q101 rules, around that time they would play Give it Up by Midtown and AFI and shit...The United States' best radio station lol
Fuse is the only reason I know about any of these bands. Specifically, I saw the “Help Me” music video and couldn’t get the song out of my head after that.
We used to havea station like that in Philly, Y100, that played "alt rock" but really played a lot of the scene music and pop punk at the time. I heard Trio on there once or twice. THey died in 2005 though and our replacement didn't really hit until 2007 with Alt1045 and by then emo was cresting and they got heavy into the indie and stomp clap hey stuff that shortly followed. They still play some pop pun and emo (and in fact do weekend emo events for Valentines Day and Halloween I think haah), but not nearly as much.
It is such a pet peeve of mine when people say things like "it isn't good". History Books is objectively a good album (I think it's great). Maybe try saying something more like "I don't like it" but to say it's not good is ludicrous.
Regardless of how I feel about History Books (I like it), I’ve enjoyed more new music in the last six weeks than I did for most of 2023
I’m still coming off the high that was October 2023, but finding some great stuff early on here in 2024 (this record included)
I'm also super casual with Gaslight and I listened to a few of the songs and the only one that really grabbed me was the title track. Really do like that.
This year is unbelievably stacked, even if only half the announced albums so far are good it'll still be a banner year
