I love how this record opens and closes with grand statements about how fucked things are right now. Teenage Heart is so beautiful and tragic in a way only Alkaline Trio can pull off.
It's funny how good a closer Teenage Heart is when it's the first song they wrote for the album. It hits me in a way that I feel like Until Death Do Us Part was supposed to. The feels on this album are immaculate
every album by this band should end with Matt and Danny screaming out a chorus together. just feels right man
It must've happened recently, because they just posted a low ticket warning a couple of days ago. Gonna have to go secondary market on em, which I'm not thrilled about
Really hope this is a sign of them going back to mixing up the set lists a bit more. I get that a lot of it was probably down to Derek not touring but so many of the recent tours had essentially the same set every night.
I just want to hear Warbrain. I know it’s not a rarity, but I have the worst luck that every time I’ve seen them it wasn’t on the set list.
Just finished my first listen (been busy last few weeks and wanted to give it the time it deserved) really digging it. Need more time with it but it does feel like classic trio while not re-treading too much or trying to capture what they used to be.
I don't know if you've heard the Past Live of Agony and Irony but I'm pretty sure Dan almost died during that one /s
We're not gonna start rollout critiques in an Alkaline Trio thread are we lol TBS didn't get on the 200 with their last album. Gaslight Anthem is way more known than Trio and had Bruce Springsteen on their album, debuted at 152. This is a solid chart, idk what else people could expect in 2024 lol
felt like Rise didn't really promote it a ton but yea that chart number seems low considering all their albums from Good Mourning to Cursed all debut within the top 100 but it's also been 5+ years since the last album and unless you're blink or Green Day you aren't charting high as a pop punk band in 2024
Yeah can someone explain to me the difference between being 188 on the billboard top 200 but #6 total selling?
Streaming equivalent I believe. They sold the 6th most vinyl/cd/digital, but when you factor in how much they attribute as a “sale” to a stream, they drop to 188.
