Hell yeah, that's my favorite song on Agony & Irony. In fact Dan has my favorite song on a lot of their albums (Do You Wanna Know, Fine, Young Lovers, Crawl, Smoke)...love Dan
Dan definitely owned on Agony through Shame while Matt seemed to save his best for Sekrets. Babylon especially is some of my favorite Skiba lyrics. He killed it on Cursed though, and they were probably my least favorite Dan songs since the first album. Not that either were bad of course, just that's where I'd rank them
Dans on ITTC were my least favorite since This Addiction. Just sounded too much like his noise punk sound he’s done on the last couple solo albums that i haven’t been super into. Stay was good, Is This Thing Cursed was top notch, and it was cool to hear a completed version of Little Help even though I didn’t like it as much as his solo acoustic version of it. Matt on MSIT was half great half meh imo. She lied, Warhol, Temptation, and Torture Doctor are top tier Matt songs IMO, and at minimum a huge improvement on what we got with This Addiction.
I like FBI and St Anthony a lot. everything else goes from autopilot to borderline unlistenable for me, and the overall production of that album is so bland and flat. wish Dan had just taken all his songs for a solo album there I'll take This Addiction any day. Fine is an all-timer and Lead Poisoning, Dead on the Floor and American Scream are strong for late career Matt
I’m not overly worried, but I did realize the other day that it’s been since the Broken Wing EP that I loved a Dan song. So, 10ish years.
damn that's crazy to me. Stay, ITTC? and Radio Violence? plus Party Adjacent has some of his best songs ever
Radio Violence and Smokestack are his two best post-Broken Wing EP songs IMO, ITTC up there too. Smokestack is another old solo dan acoustic song I was glad to finally get a studio version off
I'll never get the FBI love. It's like he tried to write a Ramones song, which if that's why people like it, more power to you I guess lol. It's just the least Trio song in their catalog is all
If we’re listing our favorite Dan songs it’s One Hundred Stories, Blue Carolina and Take Lots with Alcohol for me
Take Lots hit way too close to home back in my uni days lol. great song but I don't listen to it too often these days you all took the classics so I'll say Settle for Satin, If You Had a Bad Time and Don't Say You Want are underrated deep cuts from him
