Based on the mange Battle Angel Alita by Yukito Kishiro. Screenplay by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis. Starring Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Keean Johnson, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Michelle Rodriguez, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Connelly. So uh.. how are we feeling about Alita literally looking like an anime character in this ha?
This doesn't look good. I don't understand why they cast a relative unknown and used CGI to make her look like a vaguely manga inspired video game character. Why not instead cast an actress of Asian descent and let her look like, um, herself?
I'll see it but the effects on her look pretty bad. The cast is amazing though and it looks like they are taking this serious. I hope this does well, Robert Rodriguez needs another hit and is such a great director.
Pushed back to December. https://nerdist.com/robert-rodriguez-and-james-cameron-revive-alita-battle-angel-adaptation
Woof, that new date is busy. Aquaman, Bumblebee, and Holmes & Watson all come out that same day, apparently. That's... a lot.
I'm honestly really looking forward to both Aquaman and Bumblebee. This movie? Nope. Hard pass. Surprised I was still subscribed to this thread, lol.
I'm not particularly interested in this movie, and am only mildly interested in Aquaman, but I am so curious why they thought this date was a good move. It's already a crowded weekend.
Really? Why? Like I honestly don’t see why that would be considered a good idea to push it back that far
Maybe I'm a sucker, but the source material and people involved in front of and behind the camera has my looking forward to this still. Also Aqua Man
Ya, December is crowded. Mortal Engines, Aquaman, Spider-Man, Holmes and Watson, Bumblebee, Mary Poppins, Bohemian Rhapsody. Almost feels like they're dumping it.
I really really want this to be good. The love plotline looks shoddy, and some of the dialogue sounds corny, but it has a lot of potential and I love the look of the main character
I guess I'll try to see this after all. Pretty sure it's gonna bomb at the box office, but it's nice to hear it's good.
