Like yeah aesthetically it should’ve been Fassbender or Bishop. Though world building wise I love that it’s Ash. Also don’t think it looked as bad on my tv versus the theater idk
like maybe i'm wrong since i haven't actually watched it since seeing it in theaters, but the screenshot i saw looked way too smooth. i guess we'll find out come 12/3 when i get a physical copy. if anything, maybe this is an incentive to watch the VHS version, lol
He looks like shit, even worse is there’s just no reason for him to be included. He’s not even the same character. my roommate pointed out how fucked it was for a movie about a corporation that values profit over human life uses machines to bring back a dead human for…nostalgia? i guess.
got the UHD in right before i left town for Christmas. i can pop it in later to confirm if it looks better.
put the UHD in briefly to check. a video would probably illuminate this better than a picture, but the face definitely looks a little bit better - less shiny. eyes don't look as lifeless but you can tell it's still fake. mouth is slightly worse than the eyes, but it feels a bit more robotic. i'm assuming this looks better due to a combination of Fede & co. reworking the CGI and the fact that this is a disc and not a digital stream. but my TV and player aren't reference quality either, so it's hard to say how it'll vary on other setups.
It’s also such an unnecessary forced error. There is literally no reason to use his likeness other than nostalgia. It’s not even the same character
oh i absolutely agree. it would've been much better to use someone else entirely, and i'm still upset they did it. just pointing out that it looks marginally better on home video, so it'll at least make for a slightly more tolerable viewing experience.
By this point in the series they have had five different models of android. There was never really a reason to believe they had particular mass-produced models. That is why they are usually in hiding.
trying to count them. we've got Ash/Rook, Bishop, Call, David/Walter, and Andy, correct? or did i miss one?
Those are the ones I remember, and that is only within our narrow experience. They probably have all sorts of models throughout the universe.
Thought this was a splendid time. The direction is easily the best part and really gets the adrenaline pumping. The zero gravity sequence was so inspired and fun.
This movie is such a hodgepodge of amazing set pieces, bizarre tonal/narrative decisions, and the ghoulish AI thing.
