Alien is one of those things when every time one of these movies come out, there is always someone who is unhappy about it
I watched Aliens and Alien 3 today. Alien is still top tier. But then (dare I say it?) Romulus, and then Aliens, and then Alien 3.
Alien Aliens Prometheus Alien: Covenant Alien: Romulus Alien3 Alien: Resurrection AvP Ava: Requeim honestly I like all these movies aside from the alien v predators. One of the best franchises
After watching Prometheus and Covenant last night, I am even more mad now that Ridley didn’t get a chance to finish that. Really wanted to get full circle to the Space Jockey and see what happens to David.
I don’t consider it good by any means, but I’d take the Assembly Cut of 3 over Resurrection any day. Totally get both sides though.
It's interesting how the company still wants to use the alien as a bio weapon after multiple incidents across decades. If you drop a bunch of eggs on that planet you could eradicate all other lifeforms but you can't go there later to steal resources or whatever because they can live on apparently any condition and without food or water.
tbf have you met a capitalist enterprise that wouldn’t continue to sacrifice resources if it thought it would get the ultimate payoff? Haha
Yeah i still don’t get how people didn’t get into this story. The humans trying to find their creators to ask/love/hate/kill all while their own creation was going through the same discoveries about his own feelings about his creators, to the point where he killed one he loved before she could potentially wipe out her own creators, all in his own pursuit to wipe out HIS own creators…feels pretty safe to say we’d get full circle there with a 3rd movie where he realizes his goal of perfecting the xenomorphs and they of course end up destroying him. I assume he finds another Engineer outpost and they take his creation and try to use it for their own purposes unsuccessfully. Maybe they go back to LV223 to use it as an outpost again but one of the eggs hatch and take the ship down and boom years later you get Space Jockey discovery
this is my one concern with the Alien: Earth show. they've indicated they'll explore the beginnings of the corporation wanting to use alien life as a bioweapon, and i'm hoping we get a take on this that expands upon the idea that "hmm, maybe you shouldn't fuck with the unknown for a profit". because obviously it's a great commentary to explore, but every single film has (to varying degrees) already explored this. i'm down for this narrative, but how will they revisit it in a way that doesn't just rehash the same story we've already gotten?
‘Alien: Romulus’ Wins Busy Box Office Weekend With $41.5M Opening, $108M Globally 'Alien: Romulus' Tops Busy Box Office With $41.5M Opening
Considering we're continuing to fuck with the unknown at every possible opportunity, maybe this is a dead horse worth beating.
again, it's definitely worth exploring. i just want to know how they're gonna differentiate it from the way the films tackle it.
One thing about the film that’s minor but bothered me but why hadn’t W-Y returned to that station and instead just left it in a decaying orbit
Yeah, if the station had sent out a distress signal (very likely), surely W-Y would have gone there and cleaned up, or destroyed, the place by the time of this film.
Is it possible THEY or someone on board were the ones who purposefully set its course for the asteroid belt?
