I'm def curious about this big third act twist considering Alien movies tend to be... fairly straightforward (not a bad thing!)
It’s definitely familiar…ties in Prometheus/Covenant. Here’s the spoiler, not sure if true but multiple people were agreeing… third act features a hybrid xeno/human being born, the main character infects herself with the Prometheus black goo (which is on the space station) to birth a hybrid to battle the xenos on board
I have Aliens playing in the background while I work. Love that the action kicks in RIGHT at the one hour mark and it's nearly non-stop from there.
My non-horror loving but Alien-loving friend is gonna struggle with this lol I'm also probably just getting defensive over a movie I haven't seen but I hate when someone has the privilege to see and review a movie like this early and the best wording they can muster up is "mostly...fine"
My friend had a family emergency and is going to be away now, so we had to refund our tickets for this. Not sure when I’ll be seeing this now, so I will be dipping out until then. Hope everyone loves it!
ikr! I used to get so mad when people got to experience media early and their impressions were generic or thoughtless, I would get so jealous
Watching Aliens right now; man, such a cool film. Can def tell the James Csmeron style throughout, and how it would evolve into Terminator 2 a few years later
Just as good as the original in a different way. I always thought the first one being "horror" and the second one being "terror" was a cool way to describe the difference between those two words. One is like a haunted house film in space while the other is a total thrill ride.
I find his analysis very compelling even when I mostly disagree with him, so I'll be interested in what he was to say.
I thought I recalled David really liking Prometheus and Covenant - I think he’s just more interested in those for Fassbenders performance more than the actual movies
Saw Trap and Cuckoo tonight, if this is even an 8/10 it will be a GOATed horror movie week in my life
