Finished 2. There are some issues I have with the dialogue and the narrative, but man the visuals and concepts are so fucking cool that I don't really care. I want to see Wendy use that badass sword so bad man
Episode 2 was more in line with what my expectations were before going into the show, so I was stoked on that. Show’s cool. I’m in.
Things take off in ep 2. I'm digging it. There are more Aliens/action/campy vibes than I was expecting. Curious to see what happens with the other specimens and how much of the show they'll occupy compared to the xenomorph.
All in on this. I Like the idea of the lost boys/prodigy thing. Considering they’re ignoring the prequels it’s interesting that it’s setting up a similar theme of immortality like Prometheus.
The xeno is very suspect in general I thought. Just generally the face looks different esp the mouth so possibly not a normal one?
it kind of looks a bit too plastic-y here, which isn't necessarily bad, just different than the films
I like the lost boys concept, I am just afraid the adult actors acting like 11 year old children thing is gonna get grating after awhile.
I like that Timothy Olyphant's character is giving off full on both Sting and Malcolm McDowell vibes.
it secreted some fluid on the cyborg and they showed a close up to show that it didn't burn him. I think that that was on purpose
I assumed that was just saliva or something else...I was a little confused on the scene leading up to that, I might be mistaken but didn't ROMULUS kind of establish they wouldn't go after a cyborg/synthetic like a human?
In what ways does this contradict the prequels? Or is it just ignoring what happened in those films? I assume Weyland-Yutani did the missions in the first films, but by the time of the original Alien/Alien:Earth that more trillionaires besides WY have arisen, like Prodigy/Boy Kavalier?
Timothy Olyphant's synth character is going to end up turning on everybody being the villain here isn't he? Or is the synth being an untrustworthy villain kinda too easy for an Alien story?
wasn't expecting The Babadook lady to be in this lol pretty good so far, I agree the whole Lost Boys thing is gonna get old pretty quick. also Alex Lawther doing an American accent is very unsettling
The production design in the first episode is incredible. Didn’t feel like a tv show for most of the runtime. Interesting new wrinkles to the mythology and excited for it all to go to shit trust Hawley to have great character moments regarding the Lost Boys and their development that I’m not worried
Everyone talking about Lost Boys made me wonder how this is borrowing from the classic 80s vampire film starring Corey Feldman, but I just now realized you all probably mean Peter Pan, don't you.
