I love the cinematography in Prometheus. In general it's a fun yet flawed film, and imo doesn't deserve half the flack it gets. Having said that it has ridiculous plot points, and story issues.
I assumed he was reprising David, too, but the blurb attached to the prologue says it introduces the crew and their android companion Walter.
Digging everything in this except that last bit, which looks sort of ridiculous. Looks like it could be a 3rd act sequence too, so be warned.
Posted this in the horror thread, but this is pretty much why I love a majority of films from this franchise. I love the aesthetic in the Scott/Cameron Alien movies so much. It's not consistent to every film(3, Resurrection, AVP etc.), but just the tone is so lush. I can't describe it. The first time I saw Alien and Aliens I was in love with the world/environments. It's something they're returning to with Prometheus, and Alien: Covenant. I love it.
Glad people are stoked about it on this forum, I hang out in the nolanfans.com forum quite a bit and the posters over there are cynical and negative about everything and are complaining about this.
Mostly that it looks super generic. I don't really agree with that, sure some shots may. But it also has lots of Prometheus type looking stuff which is a good thing.
