I watched Aliens for the first time last month and absolutely loved it. Haven't seen Alien though.

I looove Aliens man. It’s not an original thought but I thought they really did do a good job of transitioning from thriller to action movie from the original. I probably get more enjoyment out of rewatching Aliens TBH

 

Yeah I only watched Aliens first because I was told "it's one of the rare cases where the sequel is way better than the original"

 

Ive only seen Aliens once and it was like 4 years ago. Watched it days after seeing Alien for the first time. I’ve since watched the latter a good handful of times. I really should give Aliens a second watch.

 

I feel like literally nobody would actually say this. They’re actually really different films.

 

I know multiple people with that opinion

They don't mean it as an insult to the first, I know my fiancé agrees with that opinion but still thinks the first one was very good and loved both

 

Yep, they cover it on the documentary about it on the Blu Ray. Apparently, Fox balked at the idea and during pre-production while they were building the sets, they fired the director and rewrote the script, while giving it to David Fincher and executive meddled him to death. It’s why 3 is this weird bad movie and why Fincher to this day refuses to have anything to do with the movie.

 

I think you’ll understand what I mean after you watch both

 

Alien > Aliens

 

If someone told me that Aliens was better than Alien, I would not trust their other film opinions.

 

This is like arguing whether an amazing, exquisitely aged bottle of vintage wine is better than a delicious, perfectly-cooked cheeseburger.

 

And the answer is clearly the cheeseburger.

(lol no I understand why many people say the first is better but I have definitely heard Aliens is the better movie elsewhere too. And in Scream 2!)

 

They are very different films and both are very good. Alien is better but Aliens is more entertaining and if I had to pick one to watch right now I’d probably pick Aliens.

 

alien is much better. aliens is more fun. they’re both great. i rewatch alien more. ridley > cameron.

I would like another Alien film directed by Ridley Scott, please

 

Still think this is fun, and not the worst Alien like people make it out to be.

 

I've grown to enjoy it more as the years have gone one tbh, it's a good movie

 

it is so wildly far from the worst alien movie lol

it's just the worst one ridley made

 

I actually like it more than Prometheus, I think.

But yeah anyone calling this the worst Alien movie has clearly never seen either the theatrical cut of 3 or Resurrection lol
