It resembles the pop direction of Always & Forever, but done REALLY well. Dryden's vocal delivery on this is absolutely fantastic. Vocal runs, lows, mids, highs, dramatic emphasis, falsettos, harmonies, he does it all This is one of the catchiest songs they've ever done, while not totally predictable because there is a good amount of ear candy on this one. It's kind of sophisticated for a pop-leaning song Sucks that the cover art is so weak because it is not at all reflective of how good of a song this is
Yea, this is one of the more melodic AAF songs I've heard in awhile. Even their other ear-candy songs like Glow, Getting Closer, Sidelines, etc has Dryden doing his trademark "off-key" vocals (for lack of a better term). But this song is really on point. You could easily convince me that the song was written by someone else - maybe Judge & Jury? I don't know anything about them.
I have a feeling they worked with co-writers on this one, but even still, some of the elements of the song are unmistakably AAF. Dryden in particular, you can't really emulate the way he sings or how he enunciates his lyrics.
Judge & Jury have an artist page on Spotify and every release they touch includes them as a contributor, so this wouldn't surprise me. They've worked with several artists, including Saliva, 12 Stones, Butcher Babies, Stitched Up Heart, Caleb Hyles, Kala, and Silos.
Actually just went to the label's website and it was founded by Howard Benson and Neil Sanderson from Three Days Grace, so that tracks. About
Sounds very influenced by co-writers. Unfortunately, the song does little for me personally and the artwork/visual style just doesn’t add up at all. Still excited for new music from them though.
just confirmed Rome from Sublime With Rome wrote Reasons Alien Ant Farm's management encouraged the band to adopt the song The band put their own spin on it When the band demoed it, it had more of a Weezer-sound
They can and they will They're also great at covering other artists' songs and making them their own, like Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal and Wham's Everything She Wants
