Every time Midnight Regulations start with that snare hit - I get immediately pumped. Old Crows is personally my favorite record of theirs.
Starting the self titled now. .44 rips so hard This blew my 8 year old mind haha, still get as excited hearing it
Crisis / Watch Out S/T OC / YC Dog's Blood I've also really enjoyed the latest singles. Would still love a new record!
Old Crows Dog’s Blood Crisis Watch Out! S/T I really love Complicit and enjoyed Familiar Drugs/Season of the Flood to a lesser extent. I hope for a new record too but from the sounds of it - that’s not really in the cards. I hope that changes
Y’all were right OCYC bangs. Still not totally sold on that vocal approach George started using, but the more raw pivot overall was a good move
I never minded George's vocal style on OCYC. I remember a lot of screamers changing their approach during that time but a lot of them ended up sounding like they were doing a really bad James Hetfield impression. George's ended up being more unique and impactful.
I recall before OCYC came out they were on the cover of Alt press or something with a quote “the death of screamo”. And I was all worried George wouldn’t scream on it at all or something.
Didn’t know there was a thread for said beloved band yet, but came to say that Familiar Drugs in a pair of AirPod pros is amazing. As is the whole catalog.
My ranking has always been: Watch Out! Crisis S/T OC/YC I love the entire catalog so no knocks on my part for Crows or the S/T, the other two are just flawless start to finish.
A new album in 2022 would be awesome. https://www.reddit.com/r/Alexisonfi...s_were_back_trying_to_get_like_all_these_new/
Represses of the whole catalog coming out tomorrow. Definitely worth getting any if you're missing them (just look at the current discogs prices).
I’ll happily take black vinyl if it arrives before some of the other lead times I have for spring next year haha.
Honestly just hoping its a 180g press like the ones they did a few years back. Sound quality on my OCYC is great. Love me some heavyweight vinyl.
I feel like I’m good on a re-recorded version of watch out. I’d be fine with a remastered version if they decided to do that for some reason, but I really like the album and recording as is and certainly don’t need them to go back in the studio in 2021/2022 to redo it. I think this style and era of music benefits from its faults, be it young bands realizing their sound or new producers growing their craft alongside better technology. I tend to like the imperfections.
