I actually like that the special variant is just randomly given. It’s just a 7” anyways. I’ll probably try to get one from my local store
All 4 dates are listed on their website. LA, NYC, Toronto and London as we predicted from the coordinates.
Familiar Drugs grows on me more with every listen. I was hoping for a new record announcement as well but honestly - just hearing that they are writing together again makes me happy. I'm going to have to try and make that LA show too. Roadtrip!
I totally get that and wish I had the restraint you had haha. A big pet peeve of mine is when the first single a band releases ends up being the first song on the album and then it feels like that first big moment has been spoiled a bit.
Based on that interview, an album in the near future seems unlikely. I could see an EP being dropped at some point though.
I still think they'll release an album or at least a solid ep in the near future. I think they purposefully like to downplay their activity and what they may be sitting in on, to prevent fans from having too many expectations of them. I can definitely see a release coming around that time of the shows or later in the year. And if not this year, next year for sure. I think a lot of it also has to do with them not wanting to spread themselves too thin and overwork themselves. Kind of what led to their original demise ( at least from dallas' pov)
Conversely, I'll just wait for the GITD to hit the secondary market and hope to score one without too much markup.
I definitely agree with you on this. They also don't want to set themselves up for failure, either. I can see an EP, though, not an album. The interview might have been the most forthcoming they've been about the band, well, ever.
Listening to Dog's Blood right now and jeeeeeeeezus... it is so good! I can't believe I slept on this when it was first released.
Dogs Blood is my favourite non Watch Out AOF release. It's soooo good. I was so excited for that 5th album that was meant to be even heavier
Just saw there's going to be a live stream from the House of Strombo tonight at 8PM EST on the band's Facebook page.
I've heard they're playing this show tonight. So Toronto natives y'all might wanna head down there lol Chastity / Greys / Casper Skulls, Feb 15 @ 7:00PM | The Rec Room – Toronto Roundhouse | Toronto
I'm kind of in the same boat. I like it, but I think that once the novelty of new AOF wears off I'm not going to revisit it a ton.
I love it. Would love an ep/album in this vein. Everyone sounds good, love the drums. Stoner Blues could be a good direction for them.
