On my third listen and I like it more each time. It's not blowing me away though and I was hoping it would. It's been a long wait to get music from my favourite band. That said, I probably had insanely high expectation and this is a good song.
If this is true, I'm kinda disappointed. I like the song a lot more then most it seems, but I'm not sure this is strong enough to keep for months until they finally release the album. Im not trying to be entitled because i never thought i would get new AOF, i guess i just assumed that since they were finally releasing a new song this would start a full rollout
Not the best song they've ever done, but it's a decent listen and I'm just happy to hear George growl again.
Definitely getting strong Dog's Blood vibes with it, which I was hoping for. I loved the direction of that EP. Sure, it's a little repetitive. The ending is the only part of the song I'm not in love with because it does just kind of do the chorus again but dragged out a little. Still, I love it and I'm really happy to have them back. I had the biggest, dumbest smile on my face listening to this in the car on the way to work.
I had no expectation for this song other than that I would like it, given that no release of theirs sounds like any other release in their catalog. This song fucking slaps. Dallas sounds immaculate. Wish we got a little more push and pull with Wade but really that's my only gripe. It's so good to listen to a new AOF song in 2019
My one other complaint is I'm having difficulty singing this in the car.... Dallas is really goin for it in the chorus
I took a stab a the lyrics, there's quite a bit I can't figure out though feeling the breeze of change (???) over me again i step over a (ledge)? is it real or just pretend it's alive in the dark and it knows where i'm gonna be forever returning again and again into the house, into the den elastic stretched and strained i know i can change (this shirt is ripped and stained)? you're pushing familiar drugs again you're pushing me i can't resist i feel you under my skin pushing familiar drugs again ??? ??? (???) over the lake is it real or is it fake i won't fight the gravity let the current take me where it please right down the fucking drain into my lungs into my veins elastic stretched and strained i know i could change (this shirt is ripped and stained)? you're pushing familiar drugs again you're pushing me i can't resist i feel you under my skin pushing familiar drugs again you're familiar drugs again (oaaaahhhhh!) you're pushing familiar drugs again (keep pushing, you keep pushing)
I lol'd at "george noise". I'm starting to think the first line of the chorus might be "you're pushing in" instead of "you're pushing me".
I really like this. Just fucking stoked to have this band in my life again I hope we get an album sooner than later though
We have a winner. My thoughts exactly. Shouldn’t have expected anything else other than a progression in sound and structuring. One of few bands that have been able to do it consistently from album to album, but still keep their DNA intact so to speak. I’m excited.
Ok I’m I’m listening now but it’s awful quality.. I paused 30 seconds in to say I already like it a lot.
