Really surprising to see Crisis ranked 1st for some on here cause I feel like that album was panned by absolutepunk overall.
I am not a fan of the remastered ST. Dallas constantly sounds like he's singing in an empty hall. It just doesn't work with how raw everything else sounds.
Gimme dat raw AOF I love it. Actually think it's one of a handful of albums that had the production add to its novelty.
yea I've seen a lot of "original" Alexisonfire fans just really bash Crisis for being too accessible basically and it's unfortunate. Like all their albums but Crisis will probably stay my #1.
also they changed the end of Adelleda? completely chopped out that beautiful moment. endlessly frustrating
I got into them after their breakup so it’s the opposite for me... the later stuff was my gateway into them and then I got into Watch Out! (and to a lesser extent, the S/T) after.
After Watch Out! They lost their signature noodling guitar jams that I loved about them. After time passed and their inactivity, I’ve gone back to Crisis and Old Crows, and now really appreciate those albums as well. Especially the latter’s ability to incorporate different styles and genres into the bands sound. I feel like Dogs Blood incorporated some of the old school noodling with some of the hardcore punk influences shown on Old Crows, which makes it my favorite release from them. Would love for the new stuff to continue down that path.
Been on a huge discography kick, probably already on my third or fourth pass. Making me realize how many misunderstood George lyrics I've been living with all these years.
I always forget how great this song is. "So make sure you love Like you've never been hurt And when you dance, dance Like there's no one watching you..."
