Still really enjoying this record. Not sure where I’d rank it, but definitely not at the bottom of my list
Very solid for sure. I never thought we’d get another album from the guys and I’m still blown away at how good it is
They took a big risk by changing it up from the more traditionally sounding version, which I'd be curious to hear if that still exists somewhere. It paid off as they turned it into one of my favorite AOF songs ever. Wade's reaction is relatable, I was struck the first time I heard those key chords in the intro too.
never could get into this band back in their heyday outside of a couple choice tracks, but decided to give this a whirl based on the reception its gotten here. pretty dope stuff here, gonna have to revisit their discog and see if i can get into them now. havent tried in probably a decade.
you’ll dig Dog’s Blood if nothing else. I can see it being difficult getting into the s/t and Watch Out if you didn’t get into those if you were younger but in that case I would dig up recent live performances of those songs bc they’re even better now that they’ve improved so much as musicians imo
goddammit they played Polaroids in Detroit ln. No way they do that two shows in a row. That's my #1 song from them I've been dying to hear live at this point
Seeing them tonight! So excited. Anyone know what time their set has usually started? I saw doors are at 7 but just wanna make sure I don’t miss it.
in LA they came on at 9:25pm. Palladium was the emptiest I've ever seen it for a headline act. We walked in just after 9 and had zero trouble walking straight to the barricade.
it filled up a bit but the time they came on, but it was a little yikes walking in. especially as the last time they were here they sold out two nights at the witern. regardless, they put on a great show, just wished for a couple more from the new record like blue spade or dark night
They posted on their FB: ANAHEIM... see you tonight at House of Blues: 7:00 pm • doors 8:00 pm • The Fall of Troy 9:10 pm • Alexisonfire
Total lurker photo here, but ran into George and Dallas at the Anti-Flag/Cancer Bats show here last weekend (George’s other band Dead Tired were opening), and I was blown away that not a soul in the crowd seemed to recognize them. I’m also pretty sure most of the people in attendance didn’t even realize that was George on stage Keep in mind these guys, especially Dallas, are bordering on like.. almost celebrity status up here lol
That's quite funny, although as good as that last Dead Tired album I remember to be, I think I don't really remember it too well, haven't had the vibe for music like that too often in a while, but I surely admired the output
Yeah I've listened to that one, though as far as I remember it was released almost back to back with new AOF, so I think I was mostly consumed by that. I had to check my last fm and it seems I really didn't give that album enough time, will surely revisit!
