RFC is reissuing DSU, cool, now people who want that record don't have to deal with/wait for orchid tapes and more people can get records

yeah i think his last record was hands down his best, i know a lot of people don't agree with that

 

Salt and Brite Boy are some of my favorite songs.

also, Orchid Tapes is a cool label - give them another chance

 

I like what they put out and they can do cool things but they lost my trust a while ago, haven't really done anything in particular to win it back

 

Trick is still my favorite, but he's the kind of consistent songwriter where I don't think any is far and away his best. One of his best songs is Gnaw off Race

 

What happened? I thought Orchid Tapes was pretty universally loved around these parts.

Also, Saw Alex G/Porches awhile back without really knowing about either of them, and it was a badass show. Definitely fans of both after that night

Dude just was bad at doing mail order: took forever to send out records, sent wrong variants of records (I got a third press Alex G three months after everyone got their first presses even though that's what I ordered), not staying in the loop...just bad business practices

 

my recent experiences with them have been very good

 

that's good, i got hit by like three bad experiences in under a year so that soured me quite a bit

 

I understand that and it's a shame, hopefully they'll have a chance to make amends ; )

 

I just watched the video for Icehead in the OP, I had no idea he broke out that ear piercing screech for songs other than Animals

 

icehead live is mindblowing, that's why i specifically chose to put an icehead live video first haha

 

I enjoyed it waaaay more than I did on DSU, and I liked it on DSU

 

so excited to see him tomorrow for the first time! the only good show to come to my city in 2016 lol

 

Never really listened to this guy. Where to start?

 

Id honestly just start with Beach Music (his latest album) and work your way backwards. My personal favourite album by him is RULES but im pretty sure i am in the minority with that. The track "Fighting" is what got me into him in the first place.

Salt breaks my heart every time I hear it. I read somewhere he changed "I want to die" to "I want to fry" because he didn't want to make his mom sad when she heard the song.
