  7. I wish it had a little more of that G-man weirdness to it because it's a pretty straightforward ballad, but it's also very pretty

    great song.

side note, I feel like this is the first album that none of the pre release song is one of the "weird" tracks on the album. Major label keeping him from scaring folks off? haha

3/3 and my personal hype machine is reaching unfair levels for this record. Interesting that the same “da da da” melody line is repeated on both Afterlife and Oranges (hopefully yall know what I mean lol)

    Still Alive

Never listened to Alex G before but these new songs picked up my interest. They'll be perfect for an upcoming slow and laid back summer weekend.

  12. I just used a VPN to find this on Youtube at work and I'm trying to decide if it's worth listening to with New Zealand ads between tracks or if I should just wait. Lmao

Maybe try Brave browser. I can’t remember why I got into the habit of using that on my phone for YT Music via VPN but I do not get ads between tracks, which is probably why I started. (FLAC is also on my Plex, which you can stream using Plex Amp. I can never remember if you’re on my server or not.)

    Off to a beautiful start.

"Beam Me Up" is lovely. This really, really feels like a Neil Young record

  15. Just when I thought the whole record might be lowkey, he jumps from shoegaze to hyperpop and back to ballads in approximately 10 minutes. Wild stuff

  16. Sorry for triple-posting but "Far and Wide" WOW

  19. Yeah someone said he was doing a Kermit voice but he really sounds like Neil here, and the song kind of feels like "Rainbow Connection," especially with the real strings

  20. Man. Stupid good record. He really did it again. I'm so glad he's getting more money/recognition while continuing to make really weird and beautiful and exciting music. I was literally sitting at my desk and shaking my head at how much of a vibe "Is It Still You In There?" was lol. Unbelievable stuff.

    Hope everyone else enjoys!

"is it still you in there?" reminds me so much of the type of song he used to drop randomly on youtube and then never acknowledge again... beautiful track, and fuck, this album is so good and definitely some of his best work yet, which is totally insane. i am amazed at him.
