CRX (Nick Valensi from The Strokes) released a single yesterday that I already love. Wilco, Norma Jean, MIA and Grouplove for me today.
Planning on buying: Norma Jean Okkervil River Artifex Pereo The Dear Hunter Dave Hollister (soul singer--his song samples were absolutely incredible) Might purchase: Grouplove Wilco Clipping My brother purchased Gavin DeGraw already. I'll probably check out Local Natives and Bastille just to see what's up.
Okkervil's good but not nearly as good as 2013's The Silver Gymnasium. But to be fair, Silver took a while to sink in and I've only listened to Away once.
I'm 4/4 right now with perfect albums. Artifex Pereo, Norma Jean (their best record in their 19 year career), Local Natives, and This Wild Life. I'm sure Act V by The Dear Hunter is glorious. Anthony Green's record is nice too.
This record, Wrongdoers, and Redeemer are my favorites. The second half of O, God still rules though.
Looks like they are trying to get record sales from iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon. Probably will be there next week. They've been pushing iTunes pre-orders really hard. Trying to get on Billboard/charts. TDH has grown a lot in terms of mainstream success. EDIT: Streaming available on the 16th.
Lots of Local Natives for me, this is one of my most anticipated for this year and it does not disappoint. A little nervous about the Twin Atlantic record after their last disappointment. Any early thoughts on that yet?
Damn, I'm still a month behind on new releases. I've got to catch up before late September and October hit...
Gonna celebrate the birth of my baby boy with some Norma Jean and The Dear Hunter. He's gonna be off to a great start.
If this album even competes with Wrongdoers, I'm in for a real treat. Meridional and Redeemer would be my other favorites.
Great to hear about Artifex. I'll be seeing them live next month but I've only heard 2-3 of the new songs yet. Hopefully the record store in town will have it in stock.
So the general consensus on the new Of Mice & Men album is pretty bad I'm guessing. Wondering how it will chart.
Leagues - Alone Together (awsome indie pop) City Lights Cover Your Track Bastile Of Mice and Men Artifex Pereo- Passengers Norma Jean- Polar Similar This Wild Life- Low Tides Local Natives- Sunlit Youth Anthony Green- Pixie Queen The Dear Hunter- Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional
It doesn't make sense to me that Norma Jean isn't at the top of metal core right now. Holy hell the new album is good. Pixie Queen is also my favorite AG since Avalon. TWL on the docket next.
