Just released the second single from my upcoming album. In my head it’s always felt like if Weezer wrote That Thing You Do. Hope you enjoy!

So much to listen to today, though I have already got DCFC and Copeland at night, and The Mars Volta and Young Jesus today!

The 2nd half of this Mars Volta album is, in my opinion, their absolute best work.

Palm full of Crux, No Case Gain, The Requisition... all just brilliant.

For me today is The Mars Volta, Copeland, Whitney, Death Cab for Cutie, and Lissie.

As far as the Mars Volta goes, it's a great record. Cedric is sounding fantastic on vocals. The project sounds like they are both happy despite all the bullshit they have had to deal with (Cedric's wife vs. Scientology, losing their long time keyboardist, etc.). Other then experimental aspects and the latin influence you would expect from a TMV album, it's more of a pop record then a prog rock epic that gives you adrenaline rush after adrenaline rush all while feeling raw existential dread. But if that isn't where they r at (and probably good for their mental health that it isn't), then I'd much rather have an authentic project that they make from the heart and are proud of and this is definitely that. And it's good! The production is stellar. Definitely nothing like their first 4 records though. If you are a Mars Volta Fan who after a decade expect some big return to the form of their first 9 years, you will not get that and will probably be disappointed before giving the record a fair shot.

I was wondering why no one mentioned Blaqk Audio til now...Checking that one out next since I've already gotten through The Mars Volta, re-listened to No Devotion, and will work on Marcus Mumford after that.

Understatement of The Year but I don't blame you because I just ain't got the words.

Copeland have truly outdone themselves on this one. This surpasses the production and arrangement on Ixora and Blushing and has to be the most beautiful record I've ever heard, taking the title off of Lydia's Illuminate.

I simply can't believe some of the instrumental work on this record, I was absolutely floored by the end of the first track.

Really hoping to see someone do a write up on it. It deserves it.

Let's get these people moving faster!

No Devotion might be my most anticipated album in years - partly because of how long it's taken to see the light of day, and how excited I am for Geoff to be releasing new music in a better place than he was at the time of their debut album.

Also still listening a lot to the recent releases from Armor for Sleep and Murder by Death.

Absolutely huge release day for me. There's probably more I will check out, but my main list is:

    The Beths
    Copeland
    The Darling Fire
    Death Cab For Cutie
    Earth Crisis
    Heaven For Real
    Innumerable Forms
    The Mars Volta
    Mindforce
    No Devotion
    Rina Sawayama
    Sumerlands
    Tribal Gaze
    Whitney
    Young Jesus

Listening to Death Cab now and quite enjoying it and already listened to Copeland, The Darling Fire, Mindforce, and Sumerlands and highly recommend all of them.

A lot of people here would dig The Darling Fire, it's members of Further Seems Forever and The Rocking Horse Winner doing an atmospheric post-hardcore / heavy shoegaze album.
