Stop trying to pretend they’ve been relevant after 2003 but I’ll give it a shot and catch up on the previous as well. Thanks for letting me know.
Entire month of October is pretty stacked but today is a huge one: B&C Caribou Ceres Drug Church Fever 333 Geordie Greep Godspeed You! Black Emperor Joyer Occasional Dreams Palomino Blond Sugar Horse Wild Pink
Blood Incantation -- probably my album of the year. I can't imagine anything beating this. I'll let the vocalist/guitarist describe this behemoth: it's "like the soundtrack to a Herzog-style Sci-Fi epic about the history of/battle for human consciousness itself, via a 70s Prog album played by a 90s Death Metal band from the future," and in Atmos! Godspeed You! Black Emperor -- Astoundingly epic post-rock that unfurls slowly. One's patience is always rewarded. Balance & Composure -- So happy they're back. Separation is an all-time favorite of mine. Ceres -- Indie pop bliss. I thought this was a retrospective from the title, but it's new material! The Native Howl -- Equal parts thrash and bluegrass. So. Fun. Don't listen to this if you hate fun. Eve 6 -- Yes! they're still around, and guess what? They're still great. Undeath -- Death metal. So heavy, so groovy. Sinistro -- Doom-y Portuguese post-metal. Equal parts soaring, calamitous, melodic, and crushing. Could Seed -- Beautiful, compact post-rock. Drug Church -- Glorious post-hardcore. It always sounds like the band pour their entire being into their albums. Trash Boat -- Their turn from pop-punk to arena rock is pretty good. Human Impact -- groovy noise-rock with band members from Swans, Unsane, and Cop Shoot Cop. Sugar Horse -- Weird, post-metal. Incorporates doom, screamo, shoegaze, prog, arena rock, and the last song has like 15 minutes of drone? WTF? Devenial Verdict -- Death metal that has A TON of melody. These guitar riffs will be stuck in my head for days. 1349 -- Good, no-frills black metal. Cosmic Putrefaction -- Tech-death Fever 333 -- I'm always disappointed by this band's releases, but I still check out every album. (Fake History is a classic)
dang, i thought i was getting off easy this week and then your list hits! Lotte Gallagher’s album cover looks a lil too much like Punisher. it kinda rubs me the wrong way upon first impression. i’m gonna listen anyway tho. the album was produced by Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy), and it looks like most tracks were cowritten by Gallagher, Dawson, and Ali Barter.
That new Weatherbox single is great. Now that's two new songs in 2024...new album to follow?? On the other side, I listened to the first half of the new Coldplay album. I wish the 2000-2008 Coldplay was still around. "We Pray" is up there as being the worst song they've ever created.
This has been a long time coming. My band Crazy Eyes has finally released the new album! I think some of you might like it. RIYL Wolf Parade, Menomena
thanks for sharing. Previewed a few of the tracks and definitely like what I’m hearing. Will check out the full album this week :)

I’m loving the new Eve 6 album. The last two were good but really feeling this new one. Their first four albums are some of my all time favorites
