What about the awesome collab between myself and you, Chase?!? Thanks again for providing the soundtrack and production to my daughter’s 8th birthday present.
Big releases from Thrice and T Swift. Curious what the cross section of listeners is.... Also listening to Deaf Havana, Red Jumpsuit, Coheed deluxe, Mayday Parade, Everyone Dies In Utah and AFI
They have royally screwed up that algorithm. I used to use it all the time and now it's so dumb and nonsensical. I use a few curated New Releases playlists now.
This AFI album is gonna take me a few listens to form an opinion. I can't tell if I just need to get in the right headspace or I just am not a huge fan of it.
I'm sure your younger self would be saying the same things I'm saying after listening to 3 songs off of that album you've mentioned... (sorry, just had to ;d thanks for the off-kilter rec though - I'll listen to it whole just to give it a try, but honestly can't wait to give Thrice another run)
Thrice (Horizons/West) — Only one of the best rock bands of all time. Agriculture (The Spiritual Sound) — Progressive black metal. Probably sounds quite different than what you think black metal should sound like. Raphael Weinroth-Browne (Lifeblood) — What if cello, but metal? You’ve most likely heard this dude before if you listen to metal, he is one of the go-tos for cello in the scene. Mayday Parade (Sad) — Love this trilogy of albums already. AFI (Silver Bleeds…) — Goth rock, but bright? Really like this direction for the band. Deaf Havana (We’re Never Getting Out) — Just darn good pop-rock. Alpha Male Tea Party (Reptilian Brain) — Catchy math rock. Gore. (If You Do Not Fear Me) — Pretty good Spiritbox-like. Wind Walkers (I Don’t Belong Here) — Electronic infused post-hardcore. Can be really catchy. Motion Sick (Motion Sick) — Old Neck Deep-like pop-punk. Hooded Menace (Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration) — Death-doom. Orbit Culture (Death Above Life) — Really dumb deathcore.
New Hit The Lights EP is available for purchase on Bandcamp (TODAY ONLY!) after today they’ll roll out the remaining three tracks between now and the actual release date (11/21 if I remember correctly)
Nice, that’s good news then. I still picked it up on BC just to support them. Enjoyed it on first listen so I’m sure that I’ll be revisiting it plenty. Glad they’re back!

Exact opposite reaction over here. ferried Away was one of my favorites last year. I don’t even recognize the band i love in this album.
Coheed - NEW TITTIES EDITION!!!! AFI – Silver Bleeds The Black Sun… Coheed & Cambria – Vaxis Act III: The Father Of Make Believe (New Entities Edition) Oasis – (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) Taylor Swift – The Life Of A Showgirl Templeton Pek – Savages (Saw these guys on tour back in 06 or 07 with Fightstar and they were great, so will check it out) The Midnight – Syndicate Thrice – Horizons/West
Just realized that the three big releases this week (at least for me) of AFI, Thrice and Taylor Swift are all those artist’s 12th studio albums. #MindBlown
Just stumbled across this album on Spotify and came here to see if I've been missing out on some major buzz about this band...but I really haven't seen much about this band (or album) on here. I think it's incredible. Definitely highly recommended if you're a fan of The Wonder Years - Dan Campbell is even featured on one of the songs.
