Yeah there's preorders for the 20th anniversary vinyl. Supposed to come out next spring. I used to have the original pressing but sold it when I got the Barsuk Years box set. Ahh Photobooth. The first song I ever heard by Death Cab back in 2002. I'm so glad they still play it live.
Lots of specials today. I have listened to that Mansions acoustic album, now I'm on the anniversary edition of "The Photo Album" by DCFC. Later going to that Farewell live MTB record. But still nothing tops my excitement for new Gates material hahh. Oh, I've also listened to the new Japanese Breakfast EP, which is a live session from Electric Lady, contains renditions of a nice set of songs (along with a Weezer cover)
Susto's new record is out today. It's a real good. RIYL: Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, Manchester Orchestra's mellow songs.
I'm gonna echo the sentiment about Save Face. This album is insanely good and I've never heard of them! (it definitely does have MCR vibes all over it) It definitely brings me right back to 2004 and the "Three Cheers" era. I sent the Spotify link to my wife and asked her to give it a listen and tell me what's the first band that comes to mind. That first piano note and she was like MCR. I also love that they're from New Jersey and that Geoff Rickly makes a guest appearance!
Their last album, Merci, is definitely worth your time. One of my favorite releases from the year that came out. Just a heads up, very different sounding from their release today.
Yeah I was listening to that afterwords and didn't realize they were on TTTH records. Been listening to a few of their current roster/alumni this past year!
Really curious about your thoughts here - I'll admit that it wasn't even close to a top TDS song for me, but I didn't think it stuck out too much melodically from the rest of their catalogue. The piano and drums were very different for them, and it was a bit basic, but I wasn't put off.
