    hmmm

I hadn't actually realised it was out today so I quickly paid for digital download. Going to take it for a walk this afternoon.

Seeing them live in a month. Very excited for that.

    • Psychonaut (World Maker) -- Top-tier prog metal/djent. Melodic, atmospheric, groovy, & delicate, yet heavy.
    • BAND-MAID (SCOOOOOP) -- Very catchy J-rock. I'd put this on par with their last album.
    • Galactic Empire (Cinemetal) -- Instrumental prog metal that usually does covers of Star Wars music puts out an album doing a bunch of pop-culture movie themes. Love these guys.
    • The Acacia Strain (You Are Safe...) -- Deathcore and sludge mix. So good, so heavy.
    • Rolo Tomassi (In The Echoes...) -- Very few do post-hardcore as good as this band.
    • Hail the Sun (cut. turn. fade. back.) -- Still think these dudes are the best of all the Swancore.
    • Conjurer (Unself) -- Incredible, dynamic sludge. The way these songs build are just... *chef kiss
    • Feeble Attempt (Waves Within) -- Really good melodic hardcore with great grooves, infectious melodies, and the right number of breakdowns.
    • Taylor Acorn (Poster Child) -- Pop-punk-tinged pop that is very good.
    • Action/Adventure (Ever After) -- High-energy, emotional pop-punk.
    • Adept (Blood Covenant) -- Really good, catchy metalcore.
    • Sunken (Lykke) -- Atmospheric black metal. Man, this album goes through all the emotions.
    • Nine Treasures (Seeking the Absolute) -- Chinese metal that fuses traditional Mongolian music with alt-metal.
    • Dayseeker (Creature In The Black Night) -- Electronic-infused post-hardcore. I don't know about this one. On a quick browse this sounds pretty lethargic.
    • Demi Lovato (It's Not That Deep) -- I really like Demi Lovato, but this sounds like bad European dance music.

I'm just stoked Charlotte Sands got a writing credit on one of those Demi Lovato songs, that's pretty awesome.

I love WVH! I had no idea about this because my tracker didn't pick up on their name change. Nice surprise.

The Acacia Strain - absolutely rips, no surprise.
Demi Lovato - some decent songs, but nowhere near as good as she’s capable of. Disappointed.

    Spiritual Cramp
    Speed
    Coldrain
    Band-Maid

Can Max Bemis just fuck off already. I’m bummed that Motion City had them on their tour.

Taylor Acorn all day long for me, she's fantastic, been waiting eagerly for this one!

Gonna check out the new Hayley Williams song too!

Haven't listened to a single release from Say Anything in years and took a chance on the new EP when it popped up on my Spotify this morning. I can go back to not caring about them again lol

Not digging the new Dayseeker either. Not a band I follow religiously too, but I like some of their songs. My only thought while listening to the album was "Bad Omens does this all way better."

    Lol

Action/Adventure album is fantastic. Produced by Alan Day from Four Year Strong and can definitely hear the influence. If you like your pop punk with some energy and some breakdowns, give this one a listen.

Also new Second Harbour single is great.
