This just reminded me I really need to take advantage of the weekly Release Radar spotify playlist. Otherwise I wish the app (computer or phone) would be more consistent with new release notifications.
I love the new release radar. I’ve discovered both new bands and new music by bands I like from it. Spotify for me is generally good about emailing new music notifications from bands I follow, but a lot of the time, the notifications don’t come in until the afternoon of the release date.
Lots of great variety today! I'll be checking out the following: MUSE Laura Jane Grace and the Devouring Mothers The Revivalists I Don't Know How But They Found Me Debut EP (This one was a surprise release for me...Didn't realize they were releasing an EP today) Happy Friday, everyone!
Apparently She Wants Revenge is back and they have a new single out today. Longwave also has a new single out and Mellowdrone released two EPs this year. Long live 2005
Charles Bradley - Black Velvet Emery - Eve J Mascis - Elastic Days Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers – Bought To Rot La Dispute Little Dragon - Lover Chanting EP edit: Checked out that album by Ellis.. really enjoyed it. Also, Anderson.Paak and Ari Lennox have new singles out.
That remaster of La Dispute is so poorly done, it sounds like the loudness war completely overtook what was honestly one of my favorite produced/engineered/mixed/mastered albums of all time. Still, this means the way is clear for their new album to be announced, finally!
Cold Night for Alligators came out today as well. Haven't had a chance to listen yet. Listened to: The Comfort, Architects (loved it), La Dispute reissue because the album never gets old to me, and Songs that Saved My Life (some decent covers). Singles: Mae, Fever 333, Can't Swim, and Windrunner. Going to check out: Emery, Imagine Dragons, Old Wounds, SHVPES, Laura Jane Grace,
Quite possibly my AOTY so far. Such a huge leap in songwriting. The Internet is one of the best pop songs of the year, chorus.fm would love it
Just Jon Bellion and Olly Murs this week for me. Might check out Muse, since it seems to be generating some good hype.
