Really loving the new All-American Rejects. Poppy, nice clean production, and their usual catchy hooks all around.
I second the Koyo rec from last week or the week before. Been on repeat for me. Def the right groove between pop & punk. Haha, I don’t know anything more than anyone else but I assume streaming and the domination of Spotify and Apple Music has changed how bands and artists release their music. Like right now I’m listening to Thornhill’s album BODIES that was originally released in April 2025, it got a remix in November 2025 and a “Definitive” release earlier this month. I loved the original album last year, but in time it falls off the radar. Keeping it top of mind a year later, even if 3 releases of the same general material feels like overkill, I bet pays dividends to some degree. This one works for me but I don’t wanna see every band do it…
I think that's just more with how streaming services, especially Spotify, catalog pre-release tracks. The first one is a single, then each subsequent one is separately packaged with the others as a new "EP", even though the artist never actually released it as an EP.
Just saw Super sometimes the arms length show this week they were so fun. Walked in during their cover of every time I look for you and immediately pre-saved the new album
Maisie Peters apparently out next week. Have liked pretty much everything from her the last few years
I’ve listened to the Super Sometimes album several times and the Koyo album from last week but I just can’t get either to hit like they should. On the other hand the Future Teens album from last week has it’s claws in me big time
Glad Super Sometimes and Koyo are getting love on here. If you want more good pop punk, Ray Hawthorne's EP is awesome as is the album from Potionseller. The Potionseller one came out of nowhere for me and is one of my favorites of the year so far.
I wish more people were talking about Dream Drop. One of the most underrated bands going right now in my opinion.
