Good week for a down release week, because I don't have much time to listen

 

I was being sarcastic

 

"Guilty pleasure," while a common expression, is a lame concept. If you like it, you like it; no reason to begrudgingly like it.

I don't mean this to be an attack or anything, if it comes across as such. I just REALLY don't like the term "guilty pleasure." The idea that people *should* like some things and not others (outside of certain ethical issues) is a common but lame one that we as a whole should try to phase out of music discussion.

 

If loving Paramore's new sound is wrong, I don't want to be right...

Also DREAMCAR is a blast and a half. Can't wait to see them live in DC on 5/18!!

I had PWR BTTM on my list but lost complete interest with all the allegations. They were never a band I was SUPER into so no loss for me.

 

Another good release today is the new Matthew Ryan record. Brian Fallon produced it and played guitar on all the songs. Definitely some Horrible Crowes vibes.

 

Can't find it on Apple Music - maybe I'm just missing it. What's it called?

Today is Paramore Paramore Paramore and nothing else will be able to break in and get my attention

Listened to new Paramore album as soon as it came out and oh my god it's so good. Fake Happy and Idle Worship are JAMS. The album gives me a Marianas Trenchs Astoria mixed Carly Rae Jepsens Emotion. Also am I the only one who gets Twenty One Pilot vibes from Idle Worship

 

There is a new Goo Goo Dolls EP today too. I just really (really, really) hope I like it better than last year's release.

I also am a big Seether fan so I will pick that up later today. I phased out of that kind of rock for the most part but I have always had a soft spot in my heart for them.

Born without Bones- Young at the band - 90s influences alt rock real good stuff.

The paramore record is both incredibly melodic and rhythmic

 

Much heavier on the synth stuff, that's all I'm saying...of course there are guitars.

 

Going to give Dreamcar a listen.

 

I meant it in a colloquial sense. I don't actually feel any guilt over it.

 

Those were two of my favorite pop releases of 2015...can't wait to listen to the Paramore now haha

Also, I'm hoping for new Marianas next year, best pop band in forever

 

After Laughter is so much better than their previous album, that one had zero staying power for me.

Marianas Trench is absurdly good. I would LOVE a new MT but I wouldn't expect it for a while

Tropical Odds by White Sea sounds fantastic.

Also, genuinely shocked by how fine the new NKOTB EP is, haha
