The new Aaron West is fantastic. Love that project. I’m a sucker for concept albums and I’ve been waiting for part two of this story for years. Worth the wait. Gonna hit play on the new Defeater album in a few.
I am very pleasantly surprised by the new Get Up Kids album. I was a huge fan of theirs years ago but was underwhelmed with anything they released since Guilt Show. I checked out the new album with low expectations and I'm totally blown away. I didn't think they had this record in them at this point in their career. It's fantastic!
For When You Need Me by Empty Isles A new Tooth & Nail band, a super talented songwriter/producer who's heavily influenced by the likes of Japanese House and 1975 but makes music that fits right into the mood and style of classic 00's T&N acts like Copeland, Mae, and Number One Gun.

I'm so happy I expanded the list to see that Shaggy is still putting out music, and named his new album Wah Gwaan. Blessed day.
Before you check it out, it's not the same Henrietta, it's a new band from my country, Poland - I told them there was a name like that before ;d but there's new I Feel Fine song “You Know Where I’m Hiding”, which would be more similar.
Hey this is really awesome so far, I'm halfway through, hearing a little bit of Mew and From Indian Lakes, too, but definitely would also compare it to Mae and all of that.
Is this Story Of The Year song a b-side from an old album? The Warner Archives logo on the single is making me think that ?
This thread is the highlight of my every week. I listen to so many different posted musicians, some in the OP and some not. So thanks to all! One idea I would like to propose, if you do list out the releases you will be listening to, it would be awesome if you could include a RIYL if at all possible. Either way, keep the release suggestions coming!
So good to hear some new Defeater. They serve a specific mood in a way few other bands do for me. Can't listen to them often, but when I do - always so powerful.
