Agreed 100%. Looking back at a list of all the new releases I've listened to this year, this one is by far my favorite. She knocked it out of the park.
Yeah I really neglected anything Alex posted about his music because it's been a very long (nearly 4-year tease) of an album but this album is pretty good. Edit: It didn't quote properly but this was in reference to Bohnes' new music.
As most have stated, thank you very much for everyone recommending Spanish Love Songs. This album is absolutely killing it. So happy for these threads. Also I tweeted Bobby to see if his album will land on Spotify. Hope the answer is yes. Just more convenient than Bandcamp.
How did I not know this? I've listened to them separately a lot and never knew! Poison is one of my favorite songs ever...
Hayley Kiyoko needs to be on everybody's list this week - Expectations is an absolutely banging album.
Escape the Fate – I Am Human (curious what this sounds like) Kacey Musgraves – Golden Hour (based on the recs here, country REALLY isn't my thing though) Light The Torch - Revival (I love everything Howard does) Spanish Love Songs - Schmaltz (based on the recs, just wish it was on Spotify too) The Republic of Wolves – Shine (already really liking this)
Couldn't stand 'country' my whole life. Always something that seemed fake, unrelateable, and dishonest, but that was based on what was on the Radio. First band that turned me around on it was the Turnpike Troubadours. Super honest, talented musicians that go against the 'conservative values' of traditional Country. Isbell, John Moreland, Kacey Musgraves, Sturgill, Jamey Johnson, Parker Millsap (listen to every word of Heaven Sent) Stapleton, Ryan Bingham, Ashley Monroe, Donovan Woods, The Wooden Sky, Rayland Baxter, Colter Wall and Tyler Childers are all worth a listen to see what sticks. Not all are actual 'country' I guess, but I have a 'Folks' playlist I have them all in, and it's something I spin regularly alongside my heavy and rap favorites.
I've only listened once, so I need more time to develop a full opinion, but if you enjoy their styles it's worth a listen.
