Not too much out today, but what does come out is quite good. Exploring Birdsong (Every House We Built) -- So catchy and wonderful. Prog pop-rock that relies on layers of synths & pianos to carry the melody, great bassist and drummer to bring the groove, and one hell of a vocalist to front it all. Think a more intricate and British Against the Current. Entropist (The Vision) -- This is some absolutely awesome prog metal. FFO BTBAM, The Contortionist, and Karnivool. Jamie King produced this. Astral Alchemy (Weaving Chilling Magical Dreamworlds) -- Black metal that is actually pretty varied. One song has a breakdown, some are more atmospheric, one has a pretty heavy electronic element. It's really good. Halo of Teeth (Meditations On Dying) -- Epic post-black metal. As you can probably tell from the album title, this is not a happy time.
Fox N Vead…heavy southern country rock in the vein of Treaty Oak Revival and Dexter and the Moonrocks. One of my favorite and most anticipated this year. “Waste Away” will be stuck in your head for months
