You Me at Six put out a new record and honestly I think I'm done with them. Every release since Hold Me Down (that record has my heart) has seemed less and less inspired and this seems like the culmination of soulless radio rock.
Managed to get just over half way through and realised I didn't have any reason to continue. So dull.
I'm also going to be checking out... Alluvial - The Deep Longing For Annihilation (ft Wes Hauch of Black Crown Initiate / ex-The Faceless and Keith Merrow of Conquering Dystopia) Chasing Safety - Nomad Halestorm - ReAniMate 3.0 The CoVeRs EP Ice Nine Kills - Safety Is Just A Shadow (Re-Shadowed and Re-Recorded) [definitely sounds better than the original] Sundara Karma - Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect
I used to love You Me At Six up to Sinners Never Sleep. I think they still had something good going there especially with some pretty cool features from Winston McCall and Ollie Sykes (even if he is a douche) but Cavilier Youth was such a harsh drop off in quality. With that said, doubt I'll even give the new one a chance knowing its more of the same.
I'll be checking out: Sundara Karma - Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect Night Moves - Carl Sagan EP Dropkick Murphy's - 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory And still listening to the new Nine Inch Nails EP. It's not a terrible way to start 2017!
Great Good Fine Ok came out with III today. They've been one of my favorite bands the past couple years. Amazing indie pop with some 80s dance sensibility.
Yes!! Really hope this is the start of an album rollout! Edit: March 17th her new album comes out. Edit: might just be a 7" release on the 17th.
Went to a Blazers game this year and every time Lilliard would score, the guy sitting next to me would bump me and everyone around him while drunkingly saying 'He's so good! He's just soooo good...' I feel like that would be me at a Julien Baker show...
I saw her last year and it was totally me too. I could barely see due to a giant in front of me but it was still amazing
That Julien Baker single is fantastic. Don't know about the Ed Sheeran one yet. Nothing of his has really hit me quite like "+".
The Flats - Auburn in the Everlast EP (Mat from Citizen is the drummer. His brother Chris the singer)
Loving the Julien Baker single. It is so good. I think between the two new Ed Sheeran singles, I like "Castle on the Hill" better than the other, but enjoyed them both.
