Fell off of the Grayscale bandwagon with everything since Nella Vita, but this new one is killer so far. Excited to bump the new LS Dunes later too.
Really digging the new Grayscale album. Nella Vita was on repeat throughout 2020, but for some reason Umbra didn’t connect with me the same. Excited to show this one to friends!
Did we just become best friends? Joking aside, glad I’m not the only one who has the same reaction/experience to the new album.
My favorite local band is gearing up for their second album and just released the first single. I'm biased, but I think they're something special and have the potential to touch a lot of folks. FFO: boygenius, Faye Webster, Blondeshell, Daughter
Hey man, this song is great. Definitely checking out Marketplace and their upcoming album. On a related note, Faye Webster Tiny Desk today. And also an MJ Lenderman from earlier this week.
Moved this to the top of my list just based on the description. It gets a little too goofy (like Haken's debut album) at times, and some of the riffs aren't as strong as they need to be, but it's a pretty good effort. Will also check out that Night Flight Orchestra album.
dude i was not an mj lenderman fan until i watched that tiny desk. wow! his voice reminds me a little of jackson browne. great stuff. his guitarist also reminded me of an old buddy from high school. killer stache.
i had the same experience, i stopped listening to them after nella vita, i saw them live in 2020 and i found their set to be pretty boring and unengaging and they put out that cringy poppy single after NV and yah umbra was just a miss for sure. thats rad they are still goin though and you guys like their new album!
yeah, the album gets kind of weird, and it definitely isn’t always stellar, but I had some fun listening to it, and more than anything, I’m excited to see what they come up with next.
Yeah I mess with every era of Grayscale. Been following them for a long time and been so cool to watch giving the new one a spin now
