This is really cool. Can’t say I have any familiarity with bossa nova (I googled it), but it’s a total mellow groove with enough tempo to satisfy and keep you engaged. The art is absolutely beautiful. I want Pixar to make a movie out of them. Ha.

Looking forward to that new thing next week and sharing with friends and strangers. :)

 

Wow, thank you for the kind words! This really means a lot. I was a little scared to share what we've been working on with chorus because I have ap/chorus to thank for so much of my musical knowledge so it's lovely to read this. We also launched this band right at the start of the pandemic so it has been hard to drum up support without shows. Thanks a million for listening and sharing, can't wait for the whole thing to be out!

Also, it's true, bossa nova isn't super well known outside of Brazil beyond "The Girl from Ipanema" and it's usually derided as elevator music, but it has some incredible rhythms and melodic movements. Some of our stuff ranges more towards rock, some more towards the jazz side of things. We're also inspired by lo-fi hip hop (hence the animations). Those animations are done by @lespuls on Instagram and she is absolutely incredible and has been such an amazing partner on this project. Also, the artist working on our album covers has been Eyes on Fire Art, definitely check him out as well if you're digging the art style.
