I was in the studio where they recorded this like a week after they were there or something. It was wild to wax poetic about them again. Excited to check this out.
Dunno why I missed this but got it on and in now. Like some of his stuff but never been in to a whole album thru. This is hittin’ so far tho
If you like this one then I'd recommend giving his album 'Reaper' a try, and if that sits well with you just move forward with his discography from there.
I dig ruiner mainly but there’s good stuff off all of his stuff. I’m digging this new one all the way though. But he’s def rippin’ some shadow wizard money gang DJ Smokey style
Idk where people come up with these sub genre label descriptions like "Mid-2000's Myspacecore". I need like a full Masters curriculum training on how to genre classify music. I'm always impressed and amazed by how some people do it seamlessly. Where do I learn this wizardry???
Enjoyed the re-imagined songs found on Yellowcard/Hammock's A Hopeful Sign. My review should be going up pretty soon. Have a great Friday, everyone!
Really digging the Hollow Suns EP as a big Narrow Head/Soul Blind fan. Ducks Ltd LP is just ok, just way too close to sounding exactly like Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. Crush++ has piqued my interest as well Also new MX LONELY ep is very good!!!
Haha, I get it. To be fair, the band is leading with that description in interviews/press releases first. That said, growing up during that time, there was a certain sound to the post-hardcore bands emerging on MySpace and these guys are capturing that little musical era really well without sounding stale.
Between this and Capstan my day is made! Both Capstan and Cory Wells need WAYYY more exposure! He delivers the feels of Dashboard Confessional with a more powerful voice IMO. If he were on a different label I feel like he'd be praised heavily here. Give a listen:
Almost panicked thinking I had somehow missed a new Incubus single, and then I remembered they released the reimagined version of "Echo" last night.
The Chisel and Mean Jeans for me today. Never really listened to The Forecast, but might check that one out later as well
oooh this is really good, not at all what I expected based on the thumbnail lol impossible to find on Apple Music though, had to go to their socials and click a link. Wish bands would be more cognizant of how things appear on searchables.
