No it doesn’t redeem them. Better than the trilogy of albums but not something I will personally come back to often.
D Smokes new release is hittin the spot for me. Rythm + Flow def achieved its goal of finding a star from the streets imo. the Hayley EP didn’t hit me where I expected it would. First singles created fairly high expectations for me though.
The new Bashful album is out today. Richmond pop punk with members of Spraynard, Bat Boy, Teen Death, Doll Baby, Smoke Break, Hold Tight!, etc. Driving, by Bashful
Yeah, it’s... fine. Good. Reminds me of The Menzingers. Happy to get more quality music, but there’s nothing there that really stands out for me. Really digging this Super Whatevr album. I’ve enjoyed some of their stuff before, but I’m 4-5 songs in and they’re all bops.
Also, Nada Surf, Spanish Love Songs, Lisa Loeb, John Moreland and Hayley Williams will round out my listening for today.
Spanish Love Songs is great. Looking forward to Envy, John Moreland, and Green Day today. Also, my band released our new EP! Pelafina - Familiar Places
Spanish Love Songs Napalm Death Sepultura Rozwell Kid/Sleeping Bag split Envy God Dethroned Krosis Sylosis Redundant Protoplasm Svart Crown
Solid release day: Loathe Hayley Williams Nada Surf Giver Green Day Shopping Khruangbin & Leon Bridges EP Denzel Curry EP A bunch of stuff in here I'll add to my list as well
I think this was the album Green Day needed to make now- nothing too serious, quick hitting, different, catchy, not a rehash of previous work. Really enjoying it more than I expected as well.
So many people talking about Spanish Love Songs has me feeling super out of the loop. Is there anything by SLS that I should check out prior to hearing the new album?
Nada Surf and Green Day for this guy. Gonna check out this new Spanish Love Songs album. Shit, I'm even gonna check out new Stone Temple Pilots!
