someone said it in the fys thread already but new album is by and far the most dialed in they’ve ever sounded. This is gonna get a lot of spins in the spring/summer anywho, soccer mommy
My Release Radar is stacked today - 166 songs, or 10 hours and 23 minutes. Largest I've ever seen it I think
This should keep me busy this weekend. I'm really enjoying the new Real Estate this morning. Gonna be a great record to wake up with while making some pour over this weekend: Ratboys Soccer Mommy Real Estate Tycho FYS Glacier Veins The Orielles
Four Year Strong Ratboys Real Estate Soccer Mommy Tycho I'm really loving that new SZA and Justin Timberlake single "The Other Side" . Also, just read an article about Quicksand's Manic Compression turning 25 today so I'll prob revisit that today as well. Have a great weekend!
Classic Crime was super dull to me at first, but I'm glad I stuck with it -- second half is way stronger than the first.
Today is sooooo stacked. The Classic Crime Soccer Mommy Ratboys Glacier Veins Gladie Four Year Strong and that's just the obvious stuff.
Thanks for listening, glad you liked it! Would rather leave you wanting more than being bored :) Haven’t thought that one through yet, ha! Thanks for checking it out, it means a lot!
Liked Classic Crime, Ratboys, and Christine and the Queens, but my favorites so far are Soccer Mommy and Four Year Strong. The fact that I still have a handful of albums to listen to makes this easily the most stacked weekend of the year so far. Also, the new movie EMMA. started showing in my city this week and it's amaaaazzzzzingggggg everyone go see it.
Some old friends and bandmates released something today and it’s something they actually started close to 20 years ago. Space Cadet Red was pretty much put on hold because all four members of this band were also in Scarlet and they did that instead. With that said, have you ever wondered what Scarlet would have sounded like if they played catchy power pop instead? Probably not but here’s your answer anyway. Scarlet vocalist Jon Spencer plays synths/keys and guitarist Randy Vanderbilt sings and plays guitar. Andreas Magnusson and Chris Hagen play drums and bass respectively. I truly felt like this band could have been bigger than Scarlet if they had done this instead. I also feel like they could do well now if they push this, unlike they did with the Vile Ones ep (which was Randy and Andreas with Micah from Oh Sleeper on vocals). I think a lot of you would like this.
A friend from Australia put out a new single yesterday called "At the End of the Day" which I think is worth a listen.
