    Aaaachem!

Crooked Fingers, Donovan Woods, and AWS make for a stacked day for me! I had no idea Voxtrot reunited and made new music. I worked at a pizza shop with the bass player 20 years ago right as they were becoming indie darlings for a couple years. Will have to check that out.

I actually haven't listen to too many of the following records yet because Cryptic Shift and Weedpecker have been on a loop that I cannot get out of.

    • Cryptic Shift (Overspace & Supertime) -- Progressive tech-death. Check out if Blood Incantation gets you going.
    • Weedpecker (V) -- Progressive stoner metal. Kind of like a looser Elder.
    • Bruno Mars (The Romantic) -- 24K Magic is one of my favorite pop albums.
    • A Wilhelm Scream (Cheap Heat) -- Super catchy punk music.
    • Ennui (Qroba) -- Great funeral doom that does more than repeat the same fucking thing for ten minutes.
    • Nothing (a short history...) -- Good shoegaze.
    • All In Your Head (LM4D) -- Don't let the cover art fool you, this is some pretty great pop-punk with dual vocalists.
    • Immerse (Self-Titled) -- This really good post-hardcore band has added some electronic elements to their sound... unsure if I think they pull it off.
    • Necrofier (Transcend into Oblivion) -- Good no-frills black metal.
    • Final Gasp (New Day Symptoms) -- Middle-of-the-road melodic hardcore.
    • Doomsday Astronaut (Origins) -- The guitar is wonderful, the grooves are there, but the vocals...
    • Varials (Where the Light Leaves) -- Knocked Loose probably gets told "We have Varials at home" by their moms.
    • The Neal Morse Band (L.I.F.T.) -- Neo-traditional prog.
    • BLACKPINK (DEADLINE) -- This thing is all over the place. There is some aggressive hyperpop, dubstep, standard modern k-pop, stomp-clap, and guitar noodling. Very weird.
    • Grey Daze (More Than I can Offer) -- Radio Rock. One of Chester Bennington's first band's, but there is basically no original members left.

Descriptions on point as usual. I’m digging the IMMERSE album a good bit. Seems more aggressive, melodic hardcore than the more pop-punk sound they’ve done before (had a few songs off their 2023 song on repeat) and it’s hitting the right spot for me today.

all in ur head is spot on. Figured it would be fodder with a name like that but it’s disturbingly catchy as they’ve been. “Valentine’s Day” from last year’s album remains in my head.

LMAO, same. Seen the front page and instant groan. Bummer. They’ve had a few good releases over the years.
