Mondo Cozmo - Plastic Soul

 

If blues music is your flavor, Kenny Wayne Shepherd released a new one. He flirts a bit too much with country at times on this one for my tastes, but there are still some good tunes.

 

Only thing on my list was Wage War, Get the Shot might creep in there too.

 

lol who cares I still can't stop listening to Manchester.

 

Nothing for me this week which is fine. I’ll take a second week to soak up that Manchester album.

 

Do yourselves a favor and check out the new Far From Alaska album that was released today. They are a brazilian band (they sing in english) and have a sound that's heavily influenced by Dead Weather, Queens of The Stone Age etc.

I'm really enjoying this new album. The new songs have a lot more dynamic than the ones on the first record. Elephant and Pelican being my favorites so far.

 

Yes! Just finished my first listen. Very good.

 

Today is uneventful for me, might check Wage War out. Still bummed Pvris got delayed 3 weeks. The 25th is gonna be huge for me though now. Turnover and Pvris.

Not a new release (came out mid-July), but I just noticed that there's a new Radar State track "Double Speak" that I hadn't heard before.

 

Enjoying Wage War way more than I expected since I don't listen to this type of stuff much anymore.

Semisonic's Dan Wilson released a covers album of songs he wrote with other artists (Taylor Swift, Adele, Dixie Chicks) called "Re-Covered." It's pretty solid.

 

New Private Islands track "Juvenile" is pretty great. Singer reminds me a bit like Dave Davison from Maps & Atlases in this one.

 

Great album, would have been a great soundtrack for the show Justified. I'm literally picturing scenes from that show while listening lol...
